The six design mistakes we see most

We check every file by hand before printing. These are the six problems we hit most often, in order of frequency.

1. 1Walls that are too thin. Below 0.8 mm the part arrives broken or breaks on first use.
2. 2Fits with no clearance. Two parts drawn to the same dimension never go together.
3. 3Engraved text that is too small. Below 0.5 mm stroke width and 0.4 mm depth it is unreadable.
4. 4An open mesh. The model has holes and the slicer cannot tell inside from outside.
5. 5Wrong scale. A file exported in centimetres or inches arrives ten or twenty-five times off.
6. 6Square internal corners. The nozzle is round: it always leaves a radius. Design a small fillet and skip the surprise.
